On Dgs Relaxation: the Stokes Problem

چکیده

Multigrid methods have proven to be eecient methods for solving partial diier-ential equations (especially those of elliptic type). There is also growing experience with multigrid solvers for uids problems, e.g., the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations (using both nite element and nite diierence discretizations). It is also well known that at the heart of any multigrid method is the smoother. In this work we look at a smoother introduced by Brandt and Dinar (DGS relaxation), we examine some of its properties and consider some possible modiications to it. It is well known that multigrid performance using DGS relaxation is sensitive to the treatment of boundaries; this issue is addressed.

The Effects of Excitation Control Systems on Parallel Operation of DGs with the Main Grid

This paper presents actual cases of steady reactive power oscillation of Distributed Generations (DGs) during parallel operation with the main grid. The cause of the problem was found to be the adverse effects of excitation system voltage regulation. It is shown, through preliminary investigation and detailed simulation studies, that how the excitation control system can be modified to overcome...

Optimal Placement and Sizing of DGs and Shunt Capacitor Banks Simultaneously in Distribution Networks using Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm Based on Adaptive Learning Strategy

Abstract: Optimization of DG and capacitors is a nonlinear objective optimization problem with equal and unequal constraints, and the efficiency of meta-heuristic methods for solving optimization problems has been proven to any degree of complex it. As the population grows and then electricity consumption increases, the need for generation increases, which further reduces voltage, increases los...

A Novel Reconfiguration Mixed with Distributed Generation Planning via Considering Voltage Stability Margin

In recent years, in Iran and other countries the power systems are going to move toward creating a competition structure for selling and buying electrical energy. These changes and the numerous advantages of DGs have made more incentives to use these kinds of generators than before. Therefore, it is necessary to study all aspects of DGs, such as size selection and optimal placement and impact o...

Congestion Management in Power Systems Via Intelligent Method

In the deregulated power systems, transmission congestion is one of the significant and main problems of the electrical networks which can cause incremental cost in the energy. This problem has resulted to new challenging issues in different parts of power systems which there was not in the traditional systems or at least had very little importance. Transmission congestion happens when the maxi...

On relaxation times in the Navier-Stokes-Voigt model

We give two results that indicate that the relaxation time for the flow governed by the Navier-Stokes-Voigt (NSV) model is sinificantly larger than for the Navier-Stokes equations. We first show that for the Green-Taylor vortex decay problem, NSV admits an exact solution which has a significantly larger half life than for true fluid flow. Second, we observe in a channel flow test that NSV provi...
